With over 20 years of experience, Liz specializes in coaching organizations, teams and individuals to improve their results by breaking through barriers that cause chronic stress and impact their ability to flourish.


Liz established Hale out of a strong desire to help workers at all levels achieve their professional goals while minimizing the risk of chronic disease, disability and premature death from chronic stress. Her compassion for people and drive for continuous learning have been the hallmarks of her success.

Liz has an in-depth understanding of occupational health and safety laws and standards, workers’ compensation, disability management and employee wellness. She knows from experience that protecting and promoting the mental health of workers is the foundation to success and sustainability.

Liz’s career began with 18 years in the service and hospitality industry, honing her interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.


She later managed health and safety and workers’ compensation for unionized manufacturing facilities in the packaging, food and automotive industries, resulting in significant improvements in health and safety, productivity, and morale and reduction in costs.


As Senior OHS Consultant for one of Canada’s top occupational health and safety lawyers, Liz helped with defense of complex cases, developed and delivered successful training programs, and provided consulting services for clients in various industries across Canada.


During her time with CSA Group, Liz successfully managed several national multi-stakeholder Standards Development Committees (some with up to 60 members from across Canada from various industries representing diverse interests). Under her leadership, these committees wrestled difficult and controversial issues with grace and sensitivity, resulting in the publication of ground-breaking National Standards in occupational and psychological health and safety, including:

Liz founded Hale in 2013 to focus on her mission to make work a great part of life for as many people as possible.
